What a joy art is!
I’m currently in Hornsea, taking some time to rest and reflect after two wonderful weekends as part of York Open Studios. What a joy it was.
It was the first time I’d shown my Rebel Flora collection in person, and it was truly heartening to overhear friends and visitors commenting on the vibrancy of the colours and sensing the energy within the work.
Many of you bought cards and prints—it was lovely to hear that some will be gifted to loved ones, while others are being kept and framed. These pieces are also available through my online shop, if you missed out.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came to see the work, had a chat, and shared it with others. I’m able to do what I do because you help spread the word. That, to me, is one of the many joys of being an artist—meeting new people and building connections through a shared love of art.

I’d also like to give a warm welcome to those new to Notes of a Painter. This is where I share updates on upcoming events and new work. I offer a glimpse into my art practice, along with bits of art history that inspire me. I’d also love to hear from you. How you relate to the work, what it might remind you of and your stories about how you connect to art. I hope you enjoy being part of this space.
